Managing Director

Nick O'Brien is a Managing Director in Kroll’s Transaction Advisory Services practice, based in the Nashville office.

With nearly two decades of professional experience and close to 15 years in transaction advisory, Nick has become a trusted advisor to a wide range of clients, including family-owned businesses, private equity firms, investment banks, venture capital firms, corporate clients, and lenders. Throughout his career, Nick has advised on over 300 transactions, with an aggregate value of more than $2 billion. His expertise spans business services, industrial sectors, consumer and retail markets, as well as technology and telecommunications.

Nick specializes in buy-side and sell-side due diligence services, working capital structuring and negotiations, purchase price adjustments, technical accounting advisory engagements, cash flow liquidity analyses, and evaluating the quality of financial reporting infrastructure and environments. His strategic insights and careful approach have consistently driven successful outcomes for his clients.

Before joining Kroll, Nick spent five years at Deloitte, providing accounting, audit, and assurance services to several Fortune 500 companies and middle-market private companies. This experience has been instrumental in shaping his understanding of complex financial landscapes.

Nick holds a Master of Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a FINRA registered representative.
